We are pleased to announce that David Gantt has been honored with the 2016 Leaders in the Law Award. Bestowed jointly by Elon University and North Carolina Lawyers Weekly, the award is celebrating its sixth anniversary.
Mr. Gantt is one of 34 honorees in 2016, chosen for service above and beyond to their profession and community. Though hosted by Elon University and NC Lawyers Weekly, the Leaders in the Law judges are an independent panel of lawyers from various practice areas and geographic areas, unaffiliated with either entity. Nominees are judged based on both their nominations coupled with an individual review process completed by each candidate. The 2016 Leaders in the Law Celebration will take place on September 23 in Raleigh.
David was nominated for his 20 years of service to the Buncombe County Commission and the accomplishments the Commission was able to make for our citizens under his leadership. David holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and has previously been recognized by Super Lawyers North Carolina, Best Lawyers in America, U.S. News/Best Lawyers in America Best Law Firms, and as a Top 100 Lawyer in North Carolina by the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is the recipient of the 2005 Centennial Award for Community Service and the 2007 Citizen Lawyer Award, both bestowed by the North Carolina Bar Association, and. He served as statewide Chair of North Carolina Advocates for Justice Disability Advocacy Section (Social Security) in 2008.
