On September 11th, the David Gantt Law Office will be participating in the annual Day of Caring event. Mr. Gantt has participated in this event for the last 20 years and has been a top level ($10k+) Tocqueville Society contributor to United Way for over 5 years. He has always chosen to participate to help remind him of the “front line” workers that take care of the needy members of our society every day.
David Gantt and his staff choose physical labor to help appreciate the sheltered and controlled environment they operate in on a daily basis. “While we are blessed and fortunate to be able to contribute,” says David, “we should also get our hands dirty and work for the people that don’t have our advantages, opportunities, and financial means.”
David believes that the Day of Caring event is important for everyone to actually see and work with groups that benefit from United Way contributions. These groups supplement and partner with social services to provide the Buncombe County Safety net.
Day of Caring, coordinated by Hands On Asheville-Buncombe, is an annual community-wide service event that brings individuals, agencies, and companies together in the name of volunteering. Day of Caring uniquely mobilizes and equips workforce volunteers to strengthen the community by matchings groups with service projects that benefit Asheville and Buncombe County nonprofits, schools, and public entities.
